Koi Pond Shade

Custom designed 16" diameter stained glass lamp shade. The customer provided me with photos of their koi pond and a compilation was made to bring out the varying features. The background glass is a Bullseye fracture/streamer glass with lots of activity that helped create the mood of the sun dappled light through water.

New Necklace

I haven't been utilizing my StudioShop blog so I need to get some updates going!

I made some new necklaces after the spring show and will post more soon.

This one is 18" and is a combination of chinese turquoise nuggets, silver spacers with a dyed howlite pendant. I used two strands of seed beads to connect the lobster clasp.

These have been a fun winter project and they are unlimited in color combinations and are just awaiting your imagination! At just under 12" tall, they can sit nicely on a bookshelf, bedside, ........

or on the mantle like this one. The mission style base is a lovely brushed bronze. The candelabra socket can hold a variety of wattages--from 4w up to 40w. I have a 25w in the one above and it makes a very nice accent light.

This cute little boudoir lamp made its debut at the Fall Art tour. It is on a petite 8" Parisian base and is a rich irridized pink glass with a "crinkly" beaded pink fringe on the edge.

Fresh Art Fall Tour 2009

I have been accepted to be a hosting site for the Fresh Art Fall Tour 2009 which will be held the first weekend in October--Friday through Sunday-- the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

SherriStudio at Catfish Corner will be demonstrating stained glass from cutting glass, grinding, foiling and soldering a project. Finished works will include window panels, lampshades, boxes and plenty of smaller pieces.

It will be a fun weekend and something that will be reminiscent of my old Studio Works days!

Now, the task of lots of preparation and recruiting some help!

New Year - Cleaning the Slate

It's the time of year to formulate new plans and I've been cleaning out the studio in preparation. I took this American Eagle piece to the Wings of Alma "Eagles on Ice" exhibit with two other bevel glass eagles. I was inspired to create this window right after 9/11. It will be in Alma until April 25th.

Stained Glass Earring Collection

I couldn't wait to put these up separately! It's eye candy to see them all together with the vibrant colors. Some are chunky, some are delicate and all are on nonirritating stainless steel ear wires with a glass bead accent.

The added effect of the stained glass makes these a wearable cathedral window! It's hard to describe how light literally lights these earrings up -- but it does!

Fun meets funky! These were a big hit at the WOA show.
